Franchisers Welcome Mature Franchisees

How old is too old to make a lifestyle / career change? We have all heard of Ray Kroc (McDonald’s) and Colonel Sanders (KFC) who did just that in their 50 – 60s.

Paul Anstis, founder and CEO of Arrive On Time Appliance Repair Franchise started his business 10 years ago at age 52. “I left the aviation industry and wanted a more relaxed, flexible lifestyle. My Company now has 9 franchisees and we are implementing an expansion roll out to cover NSW and the ACT”, he reports.

As more big corporations streamline their operations, more mature professional people are finding they have got a lot left to experience and now the aim is to work out what they want to do with the second half of their life.

They have also realised after years in the corporate world that they want more job security, a more flexible lifestyle that allows for additional time off, travel opportunities or other priorities and the opportunity to be rewarded in a more direct manner for their work efforts.

More retrenched mature employees are running franchises rather than starting a business from scratch as all the unknown areas of running a business have been taken care of and they have the potential of increasing their investment by their own hard work, when the time comes to sell.

Whether the end goal is to supplement an income in retirement, create new wealth, or just to stay busy and creative, more Baby Boomers are turning to Franchise Opportunities as an alternative to starting their own business and franchisers welcome the mature, enthusiastic applicants as they can begin their new business venture with the life experience, business acumen and financial resources that can serve them well as franchisees.

A franchise system will provide full initial and ongoing training and the systems to run the business successfully, as well as media support.
