Got a Hen party to plan?

A Hen Party is a fun occasion celebrated by the Bride-to-Be and her guests, where she celebrates her final days of single-hood with her best friends and family. This party is traditionally organised by the Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids, but in modern days the Bride herself can do the party planning herself.

Here are a few hen party planning steps to follow:

1. Choose a date that is at least 2 weeks before the wedding date.

2. Decide on a venue where private parties are allowed and where you are able to use your own decorations. It is always a great idea to decorate the venue to your chosen party theme. It is more fun to decorate and theme a party, this shows the bride that you have put a lot of thought and effort into planning this special day for her.

3. Speak to the bride about who she would like to invite to her bachelorette party and then get the invitations sent out. Most brides email their friends and family with the relevant information, but if you would like to create a theme and send out written invitations according to that theme will really put a sparkle on the occasion. Ensure to let the guests know if there is a dress up theme or if they need to bring any gifts along to the party.

4. Find out from the Bride what activities she would like to include at her bachelorette party and what kind of theme she would like to have. If you prefer to keep this as a surprise for the Bride, then that is also a great idea. She has enough stress planning her own wedding day already. Popular bachelorette party activities to take part in are cocktail making classes, cupcake decorating classes, pampering session, burlesque classes, pole dancing classes, limo ride or fire engine tour

5. Remember to book venues, flights, accommodation, travel and activities well in advance to the actual party to avoid any disappointments. You wouldn’t want to find yourself in an awkward situation on the day of hen party.

6. Get all the hen night accessories that you are going to use to dress the Bride on the day of her bachelorette party. Also look around for appropriate decorations such as banners, bunting, balloons, candles, confetti and so on. If you have decided to go with a particular theme for the party, then make sure to buy the relevant decorations that compliment the chosen hen party theme. It is also a great idea to personalize some of the decorations, such as the banners and the balloons. Don’t forget to personalize the bride-to-be sash or party t-shirt too for that extra glam.

7. Finally remember to include all the guests in the games and activities. If any of the guests seem like they are left out or look uncomfortable in a particular situation, try to include them and make them feel part of the group. Don’t force anyone to do something they don’t want to do.

The Hen Party is aimed for the Bride. Remember to choose activities and themes that she will enjoy. Do not set up activities that will embarrass the Bride or her guests. This will only put a negative light on you. Remember to have fun and enjoy the hen party too.
